Come and join us here at The Children’s Centre to celebrate the beauty of Mother’s Day by creating your own unique, hand-felted flower brooch!
In this workshop, you will learn the art of wet felting and make a beautiful flower brooch that can be worn as a keepsake or gifted to a loved one. This hands-on session will guide you step-by-step through the process of shaping wool into a stunning, 3D flower using wet felting techniques.

What You’ll Learn:
The fundamentals of wet felting, including how to use water, soap, and wool fibres to create a solid felted piece.
How to shape and sculpt wool into delicate flower petals and leaves.
Techniques to add texture and depth to your flower for a more realistic look.
How to attach your felted flower to a brooch pin to wear proudly.
How to customize your flower with embroidery and beading.
Materials Provided:
Assorted merino wool and silk fibres in a range of colours (perfect for creating vibrant flower petals!)
Soapy water for wet felting process
Felting mats and bubble wrap
Sewing materials including beads and embroidery threads
Brooch pins and finishing
What to Bring:
Wear comfortable clothing and shoes, as felting can be a little wet!
An old towel
A sense of creativity and excitement!
About the Workshop:
This workshop is designed for both beginners and those with some experience in felting. Whether you’re a first-timer or have already tried your hand at felting our expert felting instructor, Annie Eastham, will guide you through the process at your own pace. By the end of the session, you’ll walk away with a one-of-a-kind flower brooch, made with your own two hands, to wear or gift to someone special.
